Morning all - quick update on Paris tourist stuff. Lovely day yesterday weather wise so did Notre Dame which looked fabulous in the sunshine set up by long liquid lunch at nearby cafe - homemade black pudding the highlight for me washed down with a lovely Sauvignon Blanc-Viognier mix. Worked well with Mrs R's melted Camembert too!
Afternoon used to walk-off effects of lunch via the 'Jardin du Luxembourg'. Very pretty 'dans le soleil'
Plan was to use the evening for Seine river dinner cruise and Eiffel tower viewing - looks better at night I think. Slight problem with the boat - namely it would not start. So abandoned cruise plans and removed ourselves to the Pullman hotel for hambugers and claret (Chateau de Parencal, cuvee Raphael 2010 I think) overlooking the Eiffel tower. The hotel has a rooftop bar called the 180 degree which allows for spectacular views of the Tower well away from the riff-raff etc. Formidable!
180 dgree bar now tucked away in places for a Paris trip
